Wilpattu national park

Location – Situated in northwestern Sri Lanka, Wilpattu is the largest national park in the country, covering over 1,300 km² of forests, scrublands, and natural lakes (villus).
Weather – Moderate, with warm temperatures around 26–31°C

Specialty – Famous for its natural villus (lakes) and healthy leopard population.
Other wildlife – Sloth Bear, Sri Lankan Elephant, Water Buffalo, Spotted Deer, Sambar Deer, Mugger Crocodile, Monitor Lizards, Star Tortoise, and Wild Cats.
Birdlife – Malabar Pied Hornbill, Painted Stork, Black-headed Ibis, Garganey Teal, Brown Fish Owl, Grey Heron, Indian Paradise Flycatcher, and Sri Lanka Junglefowl.
